Why choose the ANTAL Full-batten system?

7 rail models and 14 types of traveller currently represent the full range of Antal Full Batten systems, for 30' to 100' monohulls as well as multihulls.

HS SYSTEMS

The HS system has been designed and developed for full batten mainsails where the luff tape is subject to high stresses.
The system comprises a tubular track and cars mounted on HS fibre runners.
HS fibre is a material made from a low-friction resin reinforced with composite fibres. The result is a product with exceptional load and torsion resistance.

HS fibres ensure
- more compact parts, as the high strength of the fibre means that the length of the carriages can be reduced
- minimal friction under load compared with traditional nylon pads
- reduced maintenance compared with ball-bearing systems
- quick and easy removal and reinstallation of the carriages on the track when changing sails.
Each batten is connected to a carriage by a toggle joint with a threaded spigot that allows the batten to be freely oriented.
This spigot is screwed onto a housing for round or flat battens.

Between each batten, an intermediate carriage secures the luff by means of strapping.
A head plate strapped to the top of the sail and connected to a head plate carriage (double, triple or quadruple) by a removable pin ensures a safe and simple connection between the sail and the halyard and mast.

FIBREBALL SYSTEMS

Designed for large units and for mainsails with a high leech curve, HS fibres allow very high working loads to be applied in tension, while Torlon balls ensure very low friction in compression during manoeuvres.

Each batten is connected to a batten carriage by a toggle joint with a threaded spigot that allows the batten to be freely oriented. This spigot is screwed onto a housing for round or flat battens. Between each batten, an intermediate carriage secures the luff by means of strapping.

A head plate strapped to the top of the sail and connected to a head plate carriage (double) by a removable pin ensures a safe and simple connection of the sail to the halyard and mast.

Captive balls: The balls running in the traveller cannot escape, allowing the travellers to be removed freely from the track.
