The TYLASKA Rigid Batten Downhaul is a device designed to support the boom and eliminate the need for a topping lift on sailboats from 4 to 12 metres (14 to 38 feet).
Each model uses two coated fibreglass rods to provide the necessary force to support the boom and mainsail.
When the boom is lowered, the Boomkicker bends upwards, and when it is released, it straightens to raise the boom.
Universal attachments for mast and boom are included.
Advantages of the TYLASKA Rigid Batten Downhaul:
- Eliminates the adjustment and wear associated with a topping lift.
- In light winds, raises the boom to open the sail leech, improving performance.
- Improves boat performance by reducing weight and drag aloft.
- Makes reefing safer and easier thanks to better boom control.
- Combined with a hoist, it offers the same functionality as a conventional rigid vang, with less cost and weight.
- Simple design eliminates sliding tubes and friction.
- Proven, durable and reliable design with over ten thousand units sold.
- Patented spring flexion provides fast response and near constant force for improved vang efficiency.
- Lightweight, unobtrusive design benefits both performance and aesthetics.
- Easy installation, independent of the vang, with no need to replace existing hardware.
- Fasteners, screws, drill and tap included for a complete package.
- The mast clamp uses the mast track, eliminating the need to drill into the mast.
- Non-corrosive, low-noise materials.
- Autonomous operation with no intervention required after installation.
- Guaranteed to enhance your sailing experience.
Whether for racing or cruising, the Boomkicker is a simple and effective solution.
