Each unit is hard anodised in black for long-lasting surface protection and finished with a pad-printed Allen logo.
Installing an Allen Keelboat Sheet Deflector is straightforward. Follow these steps for a secure, watertight fit:
Mark your fixing positions – Check the fixing hole centre dimensions and mark them accurately on the deck where you want the fairlead mounted.
Drill the fixing holes – Using the correct drill bit size (refer to the product drawing for specifications), drill 2 or 3 holes as required. Lightly bevel each hole to help the sealant form a solid sealing ring.
Apply marine sealant – Spread a generous bead of marine-grade sealant around the base of the fairlead and inside each fixing hole to ensure a fully weatherproof seal.
Insert the bolts – Feed bolts (not included) up through the holes from beneath the deck, adding washers to distribute load effectively.
Tighten and secure – Use the appropriate tool to tighten all bolts to a firm, even torque.
Use tape to hold bolts in position under the deck while fastening from above.
Opt for 316 stainless steel hex head bolts for maximum corrosion resistance.
Use large washers to spread the load and protect the deck surface.
