20mm Single Dynamic Block with Articulating Fork Head — Freedom of Movement, Precision Attachment

The A2020F is our go-to low-friction, fast-rolling 20mm pulley, now fitted with an articulating fork head for maximum rigging flexibility. Lightweight and strong, it is the ideal choice for dinghies, windsurfing, kitesurfing and any application running smaller-diameter lines that demands constant sheave movement.

Articulating Fork Head

This block features a fork head with a threaded pin, allowing secure and precise attachment to a wide range of fittings. The block also articulates freely on the attachment fitting, reducing stress on both the block and the rigging point under dynamic load — keeping friction low and movement smooth even when load angles shift.

Dynamic Bearing System

Like all Dynamic blocks, the A2020F features our patented twin-row stainless-steel ball bearing system running on a stainless-steel rail — delivering superior load-carrying capacity and exceptional longevity compared to conventional plastic-rail designs.

Rope-Friendly Becket

The large central rivet reduces overall block weight while providing a smooth, rope-friendly attachment point — perfect as a tie-off in cascade systems.

Frequently asked questions

1
What does "articulating" mean in practice, and why does it matter for rigging?
Articulation means the block can pivot freely around its attachment point rather than being fixed in a single plane. In practice, this allows the block to follow the natural movement of the line as load angles shift — particularly useful on dinghies and windsurfing rigs where the direction of pull changes constantly. Without articulation, a rigid attachment forces the block and fitting to absorb misalignment stresses, accelerating wear on both the block and the fitting it is mounted to.
2
How does the threaded pin fork head attach, and is it easy to install or remove on the water?
The threaded pin passes through the fork jaws and the attachment fitting, then is secured by threading it home — no tools are required for standard installation. The design allows the block to be mounted and removed quickly, making it practical for pre-race rigging adjustments or swapping between boats. The threaded pin also ensures the block cannot accidentally disengage under load, which is a key safety advantage over simpler snap-pin or clevis arrangements.
3
Is the A2020F suitable for high-load applications, or is it designed purely for lightweight dinghy use?
While the A2020F is optimised for smaller-diameter lines and lightweight applications such as dinghies, windsurfing and kitesurfing, the Dynamic bearing system — with its twin-row stainless-steel ball bearings on a stainless-steel rail — gives it a significantly higher load-carrying capacity than its compact size might suggest. The articulating fork head further reduces peak loads on the bearing assembly by allowing the block to self-align with the line of pull, making it a robust choice wherever constant sheave movement is combined with varying load angles.
