The Antal XT48.2R is a high-performance winch specifically designed for 40 to 45-foot racing sailboats. Optimized for professional competition, it combines a 48:1 pulling force with a hollowed-out design to achieve maximum weight savings on deck.
The hard-anodized black aluminum drum is precision-machined to provide optimal grip while significantly reducing rotational inertia. This lightweight construction facilitates fast recovery and dynamic trimming during critical tactical phases.
The XT48.2R features two reduced gear ratios. The first gear allows for efficient line retrieval under moderate load, while the second gear (48:1) provides the raw power needed to tension halyards or trim genoa sheets in heavy air conditions.
Antal's exclusive self-tailing system instantly adjusts to rope diameters ranging from 8 to 14 mm. The fixed composite stripper arm prevents unnecessary friction and ensures secure holding, even with slippery high-tech covers.
